Gene: [07q2/TAC1] tachykinin 1 (substance P, neurokinin 1); tachykinin 2 (substance K, neurokinin A, neurokinin 2, neuromedin L, neurokinin alpha, neuropeptide K, neuropeptide gamma); [NKNA TAC2 ]

EXP

Three different forms of preprotachykinins (alpha, beta, and gamma) arise by alternative splicing. The beta and gamma forms encode both tachykinin 1 and tachykinin 2, while the alpha form contains only the tachykinin 1 (Harmar-1986, Krause-1987)."
